Choosing your board

Fixed shapes (Coming Soon) → designed for different types of surfers:

For beginners: opt for a longer board with more volume for easier paddling and stability. Ideal for small to medium waves.

For intermediate surfers: a mid-length board balances maneuverability with smooth rides, great for all-around conditions.

For advanced surfers: a shorter, performance-oriented board is best for speed, agility and sharper turns on faster waves.

Custom board → we design a surfboard that perfectly suits your style and preferences. After securing your spot in the workshop, we’ll reach out to discuss your vision and refine the details. The final cost of the workshop will depend on the board you choose.

You can change your board model as long as we haven’t started prepping your materials—just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll adjust it! If you're unsure, feel free to reach out as well—we're happy to help.

Itinerary

Day 1 → Introduction to surfboard design, hydrodynamics, and wooden construction techniques. Assemble the internal frame, set up the rocker table, and glue the bottom panel.

Day 2 → Build up the rails, add structural reinforcements, create a continuous surface for gluing the deck panel, and close the board.

Day 3 → Shaping the surfboard and rails, intermediate abd final sanding, installation of the fin boxes and plugs

Accomodation

Nearby options are limited but Ericeira and the surrounding areas offer plenty of choices, about a 15-minute drive away. If you need assistance finding a place to stay, feel free to contact us.

Experience

You don't need to have prior experience in woodworking or surfboard building. The workshop is designed for all skill levels. We will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that you learn and complete your surfboard with confidence.

After the workshop

Your board is built but needs glassing (1–2 weeks), which we handle since this process requires specialized space and curing time.

Transport

The workshop is quite isolated, about a 20-minute drive from Ericeira. If you're coming from abroad, especially outside the high season, we recommend renting a car, as off-season deals can be very attractive.

From Lisbon → Ericeira is accessible by bus.

From Ericeira → You can take an Uber but please note that the workshop is located at the top of a hill with an unpaved road, and not all drivers accept the ride. You can also walk up or arrange for us to pick you up at the bottom of the road. Let us know in advance, and we’ll help you find the best solution.
