Release and waiver of Liability​

  • We’re excited to have you join our surfboard workshop!

    Before we get started, we just need to go over a few things to make sure everyone understands the risks involved and agrees to follow safety guidelines.

    This waiver is a standard procedure to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

  • By signing below, I acknowledge that participating in the Ondanova Wooden Surfboard Workshop and using its facilities, tools, and equipment comes with some natural risks, including:

    • Working with woodworking hand tools (no machinery or electrical tools), which require attention and care.
    • Exposure to dust, resins, adhesives, and other materials that might cause mild discomfort or allergic reactions.
    • Engaging in physical effort while shaping and handling materials.

  • I understand these risks and accept full responsibility for my participation.

    I also agree that Ondanova, along with its team, instructors, and representatives, is not liable for any accident, injury, illness, loss, or damage that may occur during the workshop.

01. Safety First

At Ondanova, safety is part of our craft.

We take every reasonable step to ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for all participants. Before starting, we’ll go through a short introduction to the space, the tools, and basic safety practices.

During the workshop:

• Always listen carefully to the instructor’s guidance and ask if anything feels unclear.
• Use each tool only as demonstrated and with attention and patience.
• Keep your workspace tidy and be mindful of others around you.
• Closed shoes are required; avoid loose clothing or accessories.

We provide all necessary protective equipment (such as masks, gloves, or ear protection) and will let you know when to use them.

Your awareness, calm focus, and respect for the tools are key to keeping yourself and everyone else safe.

02. Liability Release

I, my spouse, heirs, guardians, and legal representatives voluntarily waive and release Ondanova from any claims, including those arising from negligence, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

 I understand that Ondanova assumes no responsibility for any medical expenses, injury, or damage related to my participation. By signing this document, I acknowledge that I waive my right to bring any legal action now or in the future against Ondanova for any personal injury, property damage, or other incidents related to my participation.

​I also agree that I, my spouse, heirs, guardians, and legal representatives will not make any claims against, sue, or attach the property of Ondanova for any loss or damage resulting from my use of the facilities.

03. Photo and Video Consent

We love to capture great moments from our workshops! I understand that photos and videos taken during the event may be used for marketing, promotional, or educational purposes. If I prefer not to be photographed or filmed, I will inform the team before the workshop begins.

04. Dispute Resolution

If any disputes arise, I agree to resolve them through binding arbitration in Lisbon, Portugal, in accordance with the rules of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.

  • Each party will cover half of the arbitration costs and handle their own legal fees.
  • The arbitrator’s decision will be final and legally binding.

05. Agreement to Terms

I have carefully read and fully understand this Release and Waiver of Liability. By signing below, I confirm that I am participating voluntarily and that I accept all terms of this agreement.
